Presence of Self Scale: A simple tool for assessing Self-presence
The most powerful tool a therapist has is their own Self-presence. When we are grounded, curious, and compassionate, our clients’ systems naturally feel safe enough to heal. But in the intensity of trauma work, both client and therapist can lose connection to Self without realizing it.
This experiential workshop introduces the Presence of Self Scale — a simple, moment-to-moment tool for recognizing when Self-energy is present and when parts are activated. You’ll learn to track internal shifts, identify subtle signs of activation, and restore Self-leadership in real time.
Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness-based awareness practices, this training offers a blend of conceptual clarity and embodied experience. Through guided practice, small-group exploration, and live demonstration, participants will deepen their ability to bring more Self to every therapeutic moment.
